In this forum, I figured that we should talk more about art forms other that the visual ones. For this reason, I will present you a different kind of performance : a music one. This Thursday, April 9, 2019 at 20:00 at Dancehouse, Nicosia, the flutist Eva Stavrou is organising the InterSpace “Uranus’s second castration: piece for a dancing flutist”, alongside Brice Catherin and Melissa Garcia.

Eva Stavrou not only will perform the composition of the second Castration of Uranus, but she will also explain the creative process behind it.

The second Castration of Uranus is a composition for one flutist moving in space while playing. It is to be performed as a pagan ritual as the sounds and movements are not synchronized as they happen, but conceived independently of each other. It will be a collaboration between music and dance as the the performer must embrace the fact that some movements, torsions in particular.

It is a performance that one simply cannot miss.

So I have seen the first session and it was surprisingly wonderful –  It seems that a few hours of rehearsals, mere innocence and common sense have brought magical results. The whole improvisation has worked good with the lieu and the spring time. I look forward seeing the next careful steps of those Cypriot new performers.
